"Blowing trumpet" is a common term to denote the act of self-praising. Some people praise themselves by lies. For example a sports man named "X" praises himself by saying lies that he had went to Olympic and won an award. These kind of people involve in self-praising commonly when they are inspired by a real achiever and they tend to pose themselves as a great personality and they are said to have strong desires and when they are not able to achieve it, they lie that they have achieved so and so. They continue this attitude after some people believe, praise and respect them just like how a real achiever will be respected. Due to this attitude, their way to success becomes long. Kamal Hassan in a reality programme aired by Vijay TV said "Neeya Naana" Gopinath on stage to stop praising him since he(Kamal) fears that if he will believe his praising words. This shows the humble nature of Kamal Hassan however he is an achiever but we are dealing with the people who aim to achieve but still not yet achieved anything. Some may have achieved at one or two instances and they would blow big the reason for which they have achieved. For example: If a film maker named "X" has got first prize in state level film contest, he would say others that he had won first prize in national level film contest. When one find and ask the reason that why he/she is self praising by saying lies, they act in a manner that their brain imagines a scene like he/she has really got a national level award and they will not be moving from their point just like when a lie is repeated many times, it seems like truth. A so called unknown practical joke is that even the terrorist can be made to say the truth but these people who self praise by saying lies cannot be easily made to admit that they lie since every part* of their body shall express the lie like a truth. However this is not a problem/disease, this is related with mind or moral values for a person. To conclude, be honest in whatever you do and note that truth is green light and lie is red light, red can be seen even at a far away distance since it's wavelength is too high and can be easily identified.
