1. Your short film "Kandupudi" had a grand launch. How was the reception ?
It was really a great experience. They all enjoyed it and had a great time.
2. Do you think that real talents are recognized in film industry ?
I would say YES. Today films are noted as business. Real talents are not much recognized now. Very few director note young talents and give chance to them and Money plays a major role today and so we have to wait for our day.
3. Besides a short film director , what you are ?
I am a editor too.
4. What do you consider as the difficult thing in short film making ?
The difficult part is scripting and post productiion. Within a short time we have to convey the story to the audience.. and post production takes lot of time in each department such as editing, music, dubbing etc.. But I wont say as difficult but it require lot of time to make it perfect.
" My negative is that I sometimes think that I am right "
5. What's your future plans ?
To somehow get into the film industry either as director or an editor or both.
Yes there were few who sometimes discourage me, but thats the place where you start growing...
7. Have you been recognized as a short film director ?
I think I am still not into that position yet. Many people know me as a editor only now. But i will soon get the name as a good short film maker too. Working towards that.
Yes, I am happy that I am working again with Mr.Ganesh... and this time Mr.Diwakar joins hands with Ganesh kumar in the direction department and I am very sure that its gonna be a hit film. It's a thriller based and it's entirely gonna be shot in the night. Lets see how it works out..
Note : Mr.Abhinav is officially fixed as the editor of 'Manjal Velicham' and 'O4P' for which Anil was assigned as an editor earlier.
When asked Mr.Ganesh for the reason for replacing Anil with Abhinav as an editor for his short film(s), he said
" I really feel sorry for Anil not being an editor this time but he does not have any issues with that. He supported us in arranging screening and telecast etc. He saw the first cut and appreciated our work and shared his suggestions too.So, we dont have any issues between us. He is a part of our team now. "
Its the 1st victory to the entire team. We as a technican are working hard to get offers like that.. and so we are so happy for Venkat and I wish him all success and soon he will be seen as a HERO in the big screen..
My negative is that I sometimes think that I am right and so I ended up in some failure too..
11. What's your advice to budding short film makers ?
As a technican I wanted to avoid that. I don't think I am capable to advice.. I just wanted to say 'keep trying and work hard towards your goal'...
Special mention -
CDTV is really a very good platform for all the short film makers... They help us to get recognition as short film makers and also broadcast our short films to the world.
